Congratulations! You’re engaged!

Getting engaged is really such an exciting time. From going ring shopping, to the anticipation of the proposal, to the constant wonder of when/how/where will he propose, to him FINALLY popping the question, it’s undoubtedly one of the most exciting events of our lives. If you are like me, maybe you started planning ahead and had some vendors lined up already before he got down on one knee because you knew it was coming 😉 Trey literally got the ring during his lunch break, waited all of a few hours, came home and proposed in the backyard of our rental house and it was perfect and simple and it was us.

Anyway, once you say “yes” things can start to get overwhelming as you begin trying to envision what you want for the big day, planning more details and figuring out what kind of budget to stick to. Word of advice here – let other people help you, whether it’s your maid of honor, your mom, your super creative coworker or a professional wedding planner, having other’s to talk things through definitely helps.

All of the hard work you put into planning, calling, shopping, pinning, praying for your perfect day can be stressful but oh so worth it! Everything starts to fall into place as the day nears and the excitement builds more and more and you are ready to say “I do!”

So your wedding day comes, you wake up early after not sleeping well the night before, sip on some much needed coffee, nimble on a few snacks and start getting glammed up for the best day of your life. Maybe you sip on some mimosas, take some pictures and shed a few tears as you tell stories with your girlfriends about all of the crazy, fun times you’ve had over the years and how you can’t believe this day is finally here that you have dreamed of for so long. Hair and makeup is done, time to step into that perfect dress. Sheer excitement – you can’t stop smiling from ear to ear. You prepare for your first look with your handsome groom, read your letters to each other and cry as you turn to face your soul mate. So many emotions come pouring into this moment and it is probably my number one favorite part of the entire day. Now you breathe a sign of relief heading into the ceremony. You say your vows, exchange your rings and walk down the aisle for the first time as husband and wife. The rest of the day FLIES by as people hug you and congratulate you and you speak to more people than you thought you knew. The night comes to an end on this most important day and you are overwhelmed with love and happiness.

Let me tell you why you need a videographer to capture this incredible day. I’ll sum it up quickly – you’re going to want to relive it over and over and over again!

Emotions

A videographer can capture the emotions of the whole day in real time. A wedding is full of emotions, from the tears, to the laughter and smiles and video is the best way to capture it all. A videographer will not only capture the day, but artfully tell the story over again in the final edited video.

Sound

With videography, unlike photography, sound can be recorded. You will be able to go back and hear the sound of laughter as you tell those funny stories while getting ready. You can hear the voice of your father as he gives you his last words of advice before handing you off to your groom. You can listen to and reflect on the vows you say to each other. These are things to cherish and remember forever.

Movement

Videos are captivating for the way they display motion – the hugs you give, the turn before your first look, the facial expressions you exchange, the way your sweet flower girls drop petals down the aisle, the way you hold each other during your first dance and those hilarious dance moves from all your guests.

Those missed moments

For anyone who has gotten married, they will tell you the day is a blur. It goes by so quickly, oftentimes you don’t remember all the details from the day but a video captures those moments you may miss. A video gives you a reminder of how you felt and allows you to relive those special times over and over again.

Share video with friends and family

As badly as you want all of your friends and family to attend, sometimes it’s just not doable because you can’t fit everyone on your list or they can’t make it. Having a wedding video to highlight the day gives those unable to make it feel like they were still a part of it and able to enjoy the wedding and celebrate with you. Also, sharing a 5-15 minute video can be easier than sharing 500 photos. You’ll wear that dress for a few hours but you’ll want to share photos and videos for a lifetime!
